✈️ how to get to st. moritz

< go back to the tickets page

eisblume lives in the upper engadin, around st. moritz. below is the simplest way to arrive and float between our three days. we’ll share exact pickup points and timing windows with ticket-holders (in the whatsapp group).

arrival windows

  • come in: mon 29 dec by early afternoon
  • leave: thu 1 / fri 2 jan (we finish quite late on the 31st; the extra night is mercy)

by air

  • milan (MXP / LIN / BGY) – 2.5h easy drive. usually convenient to rent car at the airport. train is an option (the bernina express is a UNESCO world heritage!) but there are not direct options and it takes 1 to 2 changes, either via tirano or via Chiavenna (and there there is a bus to st moritz)
  • zurich (ZRH) – way easier if you prefer the train (much more seamless experience although still takes 1 change in Chur). car rentals are usually more expensive and it's a ~3h drive.
  • engadin airport (SMV, samedan) – private / charter.

PLEASE READ if you drive:

1) make sure you have a 4x4 car with winter tires. in late december snow is variable, but no reason to take unnecessary risks; if not 4x4... carry chains. if snow conditions, they will check before mountain passes

2) it's a mountain place, mountain passes can occasionally close if there are heavy weather conditions. fortunately Switzerland is very well organized and you can always check live the status (although.... website doesn't work from the US)
